WE WANT SEASON THREE!!!

Although inaccurate at historical facts, this has been good to watch. It would be a shame if they cancelled it and continue other inane series.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!

I love the show. The true life of Marco Polo may never be actually known. So I'm not concerned about historical accuracy. I just really enjoy the show for what it is. And I really hope it continues past season two.

Agreed, I don't watch it with a meaningful eye towards historical accuracy, but I merely enjoy the spectacle and adventurous fun of it. I'm also sorry it won't be continued. Who knows, maybe something can happen yet, but certainly I won't be holding my breath. With all that Netflix is backing, maybe this show was a casualty of their over-committing to too many things.

Hopefully season 3 will be less confusing.

reply

Hopefully. But since it doesn't seem to have been renewed yet, I'm not hopeful...

reply

Totally agree I absolutely love the two seasons we've gotten. Historically inaccurate yes (the irony is the historical truth is even more bizarre) but highly entertaining and visually stunning. I hope there's many more sessions to come.

Cancelled:(

reply

Boooo.... I want more!

I really enjoyed this show.

NETFLIX, HBO, BBC, etc........I'm sick of investing time into series that you build my interest in only to have it canceled after a few seasons.

Examples, Deadwood, Justified, Rome, Marco Polo, etc.

All of which have proven that sooner than later you the committed viewer will be left behind because the numerous writers and directors employed in a given series change among episodes. Straying from the original storyline with multiple writers and directors, each of whom want to add their interpretation leads to confusion and disjointed story lines.

As an example in S2 of Polo and executive writer and story editor was added. The shoe became more of a "soap" and less of a historical ( although frequently inaccurate) action story. Some of the episodes of S2 seemed more focused on topics that weren't likely (I.e the unrequited love affaire between Polo and the Blue Princess including a hard to believe rape orchestrated by the Empress).

For a reported $9M per episode Weinstein and Nteflix should have been able to achieve success.

I like Polo but as is the case with other series mentioned I've come to the conclusion that investing in series such as this just lead to disappointment when the storyline is abandoned prematurely.

I'm done watching series that aren't fully baked, bye Netfilx.

While I found the ending of Rome sufficient enough to appease my disappointment at its cancellation I'd watch the frack out season 3. I wouldn't care if they just gave some limp excuse that they faked Lucius Vorenus' death to get Octavian off his trail or something because the banter between him and Pullo is one of the best bits of the show.

I'd also like to see how Octavian rules Rome.

Why not have a Kickstarter campaign for Marco Polo Season 3?! Who do we contact to get the ball rolling? If Super Troopers 2 can be entirely funded by such a campaign, why not Marco Polo?
