Yeah I saw that... sucks. I love the show.

reply

Bugger. I hope they made a profit on such an expensive show. Visually spectacular.

reply

Disappointing to hear, I do like historical dramas, especially since it looks like it will not get a proper ending. Also, I hope we get a DVD of season two soon, like with season one.

reply

Yeah, I thought it was pretty spectacular myself, done with a lot of care and enthusiasm to bring their (okay, fictional/historical) world to life. I am sorry they won't have a third season. That must be the thing, they may not have made a profit, or enough of a profit to satisfy the powers that be. I would have hoped for at least a few more episodes, since it ended so abruptly, clearly anticipating further episodes. Maybe if fans pester enough some follow up may be possible?

reply

Frack that. Hope they at least go with transforming the show into One Hundred Eyes, Michelle Yeoh and Co.

Have Marco drop in every now and then.

Some cameos from Donnie Yen and Jet Li would be great too.

reply

I'd like that, and especially more with Hundred Eyes and Michelle Yeoh's Lotus.

Hundred Eyes and Marco are tied in my book for the most interesting/entertaining characters... merely my own opinion, not more. I'd enjoy to see more of them together also. A few drop-ins may be about right to evolve some kind of transition in a new direction, sure. A good thought indeed.

I wish it were possible to bank at least one last season to address the story lines they put in play with the first two... there ought to be a contingency fund for shows that get to two full seasons to at least have a third if they end with a cliff-hanger! Hehe.

reply

Maybe they should have done that right from the start. Had it been a fantasy show, I might have tolerated One Hundred Eyes. In historical context of course, that character is nonsense and immediatly ruined what the show was supposed to be.

reply

I enjoyed the show and was hoping for another season, but it wasn't so great to where I'm upset about it being cancelled.

reply

Just found out about this (looking for next binge).. am bummed out!

makes sense that it was so expensive...Costumes & sets were top notch! They made the show what it was...

Marketing must be difficult ... show lacks mass appeal... but man I did enjoy the doses of eastern philosophy

reply

bummer

reply

So disappointing! This show is great. So many acting performances that I think are outstanding.

reply

Many of the cast are quite good, yes.

reply

I really liked this show. What a huge disappointment. Just like "The Borgias". I'm out of shows!

reply

yup...first series I bothered watching in ages! I devoured the first season...thankfully I still have the second to work through. Hoping they get a enough of a following to continue in the future. Game of Thrones got boring after the second or third series IMO though it does seem to have increased interest in period action drama series so maybe MP wouldn't have existed without it.
