Anyone else love the last quarter of the game?

When you get to the Alien Machine/City area? I think the scenery is absolutely incredible, the new alien-created necromorphs are awesome, the aliens themselves were interesting (wouldve loved to see more of them when they were alive), the new gameplay mechanics (the incredibly powerful kinesis that can pull the limbs off live necromorphs etc.) and the overall gamplay and story itself was great, had me on the edge of my seat. Also the Moon was a very impressive final boss, and once I figured out how to damage it, the battle became really fun in a sort of challenging way.
The game started off a bit slow, picked up a lot around the time they crash onto the ice planet and then finally turned amazing with the last few chapters. I think I arguably prefer it to DS2 (although still not quite as good as DS)

I played it on normal and wasn't expecting some fights to be that challenging.

Personally, I enjoyed the first six chapters of the game the most. Would have liked spending a bit more time in New Horizons. And maybe exploring the ships.

Yeah, the first half that is set aboard all those derelict vessels drifting through space was also my favourite part. It still had the classic Dead Space vibe. While I also did like the ice planet setting, because it reminded me of The Thing (a big influence on the whole Dead Space franchise), the ever increasing action and being swamped by hordes of Necromorphs really wore me down in a negative way. That was definitely a step in the wrong direction.

The last quarter, with the aliens and their sacrifice, was pretty cool. Probably the highlight of an otherwise very average game.
Before the last 3 or 4 chapters I would rate this game a 5, but after those I bump it to a 6.
