The Ending. (spoilers)

So, I've just completed the game.

I'm not sure I would have believed anybody who told me the final boss would be the MOON.

Loved the game, and considering the ending I'm curious what could be in the future of the franchise.
With Isaac (presumed) dead, would we see direct sequels where we take control of a new character? (Maybe Ellie?)

A campaign DLC pack comes out next month, but so far there's no news on what it will be about, though I imagine it will be a continuation of the Extinction-Severed storyline.

The developers said before they would love to see more games based in the Dead Space universe that swapped up the genre.
They said they wanted to create an Uncharted-like game, an FPS and I think they said possibly a flight game?

Personally I really like the idea of the franchise spreading out and exploring different genres and gameplay mechanics.
It's something we see a lot in other forms of media, but not all that often in games.

Obviously there are things like Mario, Mario Kart, Maro Party...
Thing's that change up the gameplay but keep characters.

But I can't think of many other gaming franchises that are so narrative heavy that have attempted something like this.

dude I could'nt believe you fought the damn moon either lol it was blown away they did it very well, and I'm not sure you will play with anyone else I think once agian it will be our main man isaac clark...you did wait til after the credits right? hes far from dead but he is stuck alone in space... I guess we will have to see what is next but i beat it and i started a new game right away, great game instant classic and i would love to see the new DLC for this as well

Since you guys have beaten the game as well here are the flaws in the game.

-Each suit has no real benefit.
-The enemies come in so many waves that it feels like a horde mode.
-The opening chapter was so over the top.
-The villain was not interesting at all.

Here are my suggestions for Dead Space 4

-Bring back the Brutes.
-Allow us to upgrade our suits and show the upgrades on the character.
-Have each suit have a pro and a con such as faster flying in Zero G but slower running. Here are some examples:

Advanced EVA suit: The thrusters allow for greater speed and movement in Zero gravity but make you slower on the ground.

Fire suit: Allows you to walk through fire and gives you a larger oxygen tank but you move slower in Zero gravity.

I somewhat agree about the suits. Yes, you couldn't progress until you got the new suits. It would have been cooler to have had to swap back and forth for the environments. And upgrades should have been restricted to the specific suits not universal. And the kiosks should have been fewer and far between so you had to backtrack to change, say if you found a zero gravity, vacuum or other extreme condition area for an optional mission.

My biggest beef is with the rappelling! I played on the PC, and the mechanics were just unresponsive, frustrating and awful. Every time I got to one of those grappling stations next to a cliff I screamed.

I thought the last chapter was the exact opposite of the first. Easy and underwhelming. I think it took two minutes on hard to beat the moon. The game wanted to start off with a bang. A crashed and recrashed spaceship, a mysterious container and a murder-suicide did just that. I sorta wish the ending was as spectacular.

I agree Danik was a drip. But I don't play Dead Space for the human baddies. In fact they are ancillary by design. The games are about the necros and exploring haunted halls. And if that happens in "waves" until the music stops, well that is the very gameplay that defines the Dead Space series. Better that than one monster every five minutes. I never think of it as shooting gallery but as the often relentless nature of this beast.

I would like DS4 to focus on Altman. I do not believe he was the martyr proclaimed by his followers

Altman's story has already been told in Dead Space: Martyr.
