Turned off by sexual violence?

I love Chloe Sevigney and I have watched this show from the beginning with a lot of hope. However, it seems as though each week has a different way of tying up, torturing and killing women. Lots of closeups, lots of lingering on the details. It seems gratuitous, almost pornographic to me. It's very disappointing.

reply

I absolutely agree, it's too much, sadistic, pornographic and disgusting ('scato') and it would be better if the episodes were less creepy too. I also love Chloe, she's a great actress.

reply

There's actually nothing wrong with Chloe, but if you dig into what makes her who she is, .. I'll talk about a friend. She always was preoccupied around me, also from the New England area. She acted so sacrificial, still, when she wouldn't socialize properly, finding some way to blame me. It's 1 of those abstract things you sense but don't know what it really is in order to explain it. I didn't find to bring it up, but you seem to have dug deeper into the situation, LOL. I think Chloe is simply turned on by intelligence. It's so sad that these shows aren't real, Chloe is not Jensen. I also would hate if I had friends my age who dumped me, which they did, but for other girl friends. Lotta us wanted kids in our 20s for some reason. I think Chloe is like a paper towel, a leading brand, cleans up all the mess. You're done with the mess, it goes in the garbage. It's what it is, it's a mess..

so I cry and I pray and I beg .. LOVE ME LOVE ME

I think the show does a good job showing serial killers for what they really are; sadistic, psychopathic rapists and murderers, who take pleasure in raping, torturing and murdering their victims.

Serial killers in the real world are not anywhere near the romanticized, fashionable, intelligent and refined likes of Dexter Morgan and Hannibal Lecter. They are often of average or below average intelligence, they are selfish, narcissistic, suffers delusions of grandeur, have no pity or sympathy, and are aroused by causing physical and emotional pain to others. They are warped and creepy people you want to stay miles away from, and no amount of begging or crying would ever make them stop or even pause, but rather egg them on.

I am refreshed by this show and its portrayal of serial killers' nature - sick, twisted and disgusting.

You have to brace yourself when you appear on television, being interviewed or having your performance featured on a talk show..

I think Chloe is a serious person from the Northeast who enjoys killing people because of this movie.

Chloe|Jensen is. What if she killed her brother? They could finish the series and slap that in. Just think about it. The dude is too mundane to wanna kill anyone, yet he did, his own flesh and blood..

Like Chloe Moretz. I think she's too eager for attention and pleasure. Even the facts in her life must be pleasure-inducing because it's proper for her to have by birthright. You already know what people do, and that is why people stay back from Chloe. I liked her a lot, but I don't think she likes me in the same way. Anyway, I'll continue hacking at my fans.

Yea, that's when you need to leave and take it out of your life.

Yes, I think her partner is sadistic, and I think the men we see in film are there for the pleasure of emotional and telepathic rape.

You are very smart. Thank you for Words.

I do think that Schaeffer hypnotized her into some pleasure and messed her up, slimmed her down. It shoulda been the opposite. I do mean the person. He seemed to be jealous and conclude she was mean. Maybe, he is in the wrong clique in that show. He seems a nice guy to be around normal guys, but THIS is CHLOE SEVIGNY!

I don't know, he was a pretty mellow guy, maybe should have held himself back. He assumes he is more like Sevigny than the audience, but that's another thing that isn't true. Maybe, that's why he seems a bit abusive, like playing with your kitten, you wonder why it won't function, open its eyes, walk, and nurse from you.

I think people are out there to stop people from making friends and living life. Why not just admit I'm better like I'm used to people doing? I don't wanna scratch my way out with being battered for gossip and teasing. If you said I was better, something would hit, I would have been more like you wanted, I would be powerful like an angel or God. I would be someone to look up to more than others.

ChristinaAnnBarrett-OrlFL1986, what the hell are you going on about? LOL. both of your posts make no sense.

@djblack1313, Right?! WTF? Reading those post creeped me out more than this show ever has! (Though I agree with the OP that the "torture porn" is over the top in Those Who Kill. Those posts, though... OMG!

reply

osofine, TOTALLY!! lol. reading ChristinaAnnBarrett's comments were very creepy and say that as lifelong horror movie fan where it takes a lot to creep me out! LOL.

reply

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed....I was sorta scared to say anything! haha

reply

Yea, I think she's taken what I said into consideration. As long as she's not stuck with a dude like that. Let's just say no Chloe. But still get a blog and talk to us. Did you see her Twitter? "I cut like a *beep* knife!" She must really care about knives and, therefore, the safety of..

What?? Do you have a decoder ring, or something, to help make sense of your posts?

reply

No, I had and have no idea what I was really trying to say.

More importantly.. I dunno. Like I said just now in another post, she should get married and have a baby girl, her only child I presume, or a boy and continue and bage (beg) them to make more of Those Who Kill. How romantic.

Those guys are not Chloe Sevigny, like Helena Bonham Carter is not Tim Burton. Everyone is not God. What I mean is we are all different, some similar, others not. I am similar, possibly, but I am not really sure, too.

LOL!

We're all different, don't have to be anything, but we are what we are. We have to act quickly, but sometimes we don't realize some things. I mean, Chloe Sevigny and Johnny Depp - that sounds like a match to have a match.

I'm sorry but, dude, are you on something? 'Cause I want some of that you're having...

reply

You mean how I'm the only 1 posting much? You all just dodge the facts cuz you're here for *beep* and giggles. You say things that aren't the peak interest nor necessary, still, too, which is terribly funny.

no Christina. the person made that comment about you because you clearly have multiple personality disorder and 99% of your posts make no sense.

reply

I don't know what YOU mean. You sound like you're just saying I'm sorry you're 1/2 Chinese but I'm not necessarily all white myself. Things have changed where they shouldn't have for you guys.

My posts are just long and boring, not something you have to read. I get mad, but I try to be my old self and feel for where I could have been different.

Well, I'm fixing my hair, getting it dyed and styled, in June. I need more rest. I need something to do, and I'm going to take care of dogs over the summer. It's to give me experience before getting helped to find a good job that fits.

I loved both the Danish, original version and the American version.
I turned of the sound and closed my eyes for the scary scenes. It was just too good to let go. But I can, luckily for my mental health, only infer what was happening when my eyes were closed. The stuff I saw was more than scary enough.

I assume you have seen the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, if not, that is some evil *beep* wrapped in good crime

If you would like some other Danish crime that is similar, but not the same amount of sexual violence:

i'm a huge horror fan but even I am really disliking the Space Cowboy/his M.O. (which i guess is supposed to make viewers hate him). i never fast forward through scenes but i did just that during his torturing/killing scenes.

Karen Carpenter is from Connecticut, too.

They need to talk to us more and not consider themselves the only people that exist in the world. You're nice, why not talk to you, instead?

Your post is shorter but still.

To ChristinaAnnBarrett... Please keep posting here--I have absolutely no idea what it is you're trying to communicate with your posts, but they are immensely interesting to try and figure out.

Yea, I was just saying people from Connecticut are interesting.

Thanks! I've made some points in my posts.

This show is highly centered around sexual violence, it seems. People keep getting mad at Jensen..

Wow. I can't get enough of TWK. Adore my Chloe. I hate mediocre run of the mill bore that most current tv series use as plots.

reply

I know, she should be considered a star in the running. Everyone would fight over her! I mean it.

I was thinking the same thing..I'm watching on drv a week late..so I'm seeing the scene with the tongue and thought I have to just see actors here, or I will be so turned off by the disgust of the violence and the killers glee with it that it will cloud the storytelling...then I got this..and I know entertainment and a documentary for instance are very differant..but...I thought the many thousands and more of edp women who's last days hours seconds were spent in horror goes right by the avg person. We here of a rape and do not really get how horrific that would be. To be kidnapped, to be tortured..even by officials. The evil in the world is everywhere! A series has to balance what is and is not entertainment, I know...but there is a part of me that is thinking we need to at some point know how truely awful it is for these victims eve if we really can't. And the truth is this is nothing ,we get seconds of what they are kinda going thru and do what we need to to get thru it. The reality is beyong comprehension..so, maybe it is not such a bad thing..IF IT IS DONE WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR THE VICTIM. Anyhow I still feel and have big questions!

It doesn't seem gratuitous at all to me. It's a series about serial killers, what did you expect? No murder ever depicted? Have you seen some actual "torture porn" $hit? Those Who Kill does not belong to that category. It's a good crime show especially because it's dark!

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

Chloe Sevigny was great in Brown Bunny.
