John/Brian - spoilers + question on ending.

What is up with leaving the retired sheriff when he's being attacked by his mother? John/Brian and Emma could have helped him and saved his life. Also, is he really just sitting next to Emma in the car while she is getting strangled? Okay, I mean, sitting next to Emma getting strangled while he overacts and does nothing to help her. Really?

Also, Chiller interrupted the ending with another promo so I couldn't hear what was being said in the Sheriff's car. Did I miss anything?

I know you posted this awhile ago, so I don't know if you still need a response...but to answer your question, you didn't miss much. The sheriff gets into the car and asks Johnny what happened...Johnny tells the sheriff he wouldn't believe him...the sheriff says that he had always been friends with Sheriff Depford; they would talk about the case (the sheriff would talk about new leads and Sheriff Depford would talk about his theories); he then said he always thought Sheriff Depford was crazy with his supernatural theories...Johnny says the guy wasn't crazy...then the sheriff says he is going to get him to the hospital to get checked out and so they can iron out the story about what happened at the house, and then he can go home...the crow lands on the trunk of the car and crows (or whatever they do to make their sound)...and Johnny says that he is home...then it's over.
