Impressions from screening at PLGFF

It screened at PLGFF in Portland this evening. I really enjoyed seeing the method of instruction, the way the movements and dance segments were developed and built up, also watching the group change from a collection of skilled dancers who are strangers, into a close-knit group clearly very comfortable with each other by the end. I've seen plenty of dance performances before but was ignorant about the actual process so this was really interesting for me.
Nicely understated dramatic performances, sometimes it's possible to say more with less, the various characters and story lines feel realistic. I've just had a couchsurfer from the mid-west staying with me in Portland on a computer programming fast-track course and his family background issues are very close to those of Chip's.
