A review from Malaysia

"This is one movie that seriously needs to be remade by Hollywood's better experienced directors and writers.

Cold War is a intense, fast-paced, case-solving film with an almost over-complicated plot but screws it all up in the seemingly rushed final third with a simple, straightforward climax before leaving the viewers with a cheesy, cliffhanging ending with questions unanswered. Tension builds up brilliantly from the very beginning of the film and the suspense is kept even after film ends hence the lack of character development.

Fantastic performance by veteran actors, Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung, but bad choice casting the other younger ones like Ariff Rahman Lee and Eddie Peng that just didn't play out their roles convincingly enough."

totally agreed storywise. i was expecting so much more...

ariff rahman did OK, although it was weird that he was telling the apparent "schemes" like he's enjoying it.

also eddie peng was also enjoying that he's a bastard, even though he's supposed to be doing something "good" for his dad.
