I thought the first episode of this was so good. Biggs wasn't made out to be a hero which I really liked. Great performances and very good writing. Well done ITV.
Particularly as Parade's End is the big thing on the BBC and that's hopeless.
Sheridan Smith is a wonderful actress .... I can't get enough of her. Last night she was in THE SCAPEGOAT, another period piece. She's not only a great actress, but sexy with it.
I finally got round to watching the final episode last night. It was a superb production, and, although it probably wasn't 100% accurate, it told us a lot more about the story than I suspect most of us ever knew, particularly those of us born after 1963.
The performances were superb - Daniel Mays seems to be getting better and better, and Sheridan Smith is outstanding in everything she does - her performance in Mrs Biggs was Bafta worthy.
I didn't know ITV were capable of producing something so good!
