I think they did a pretty decent job of filling the season with scenarios different enough to remain interesting. A second season might have been a challenge, but this one didn't deserve the quick cancellation it got. Perhaps they were embarrassed by the low rating for the premiere, and this was their face-saver, to cancel it.
I thought the original idea was dumb, but after watching a couple of episodes I was looking forward to the next and the next. Plausible, no, but who cares, it's fantasy, and we are surrounded by reality, no need to watch it on TV.
