is it cancelled . I mean its so much better than those other shows like va,pire dairies , glee , greys anatomy etc . Its a good blend of medical drama and thriller . Very fast paced too . I will they continue this show .

shareI agree that it's better than most shows out there, despite some flaws in logic. I think it's main issue was advertising. If my friend hadnmt told me about this show, I wouldn't have known it existed. They also could have drawn in more people if they stuck closer to the Jekyll and Hyde theme. I think a lot of people just didn't know what the show was about.
shareBecause quality does not matter, and ratings do. It was the worst prime time network premiere ever, and episode two had lower ratings still. Much as I like the show, I cannot fault them for cancelling it.

Parallel universes, reality vs. dreamworld, estranged twins or dual personalities, perhaps these themes are good for an episode or two but are not strong enough premises to carry an entire season of a show.

I loved awake and thought it was a great show. Probably the problem was that it was too sophisctatec for audiences to understand or follow.
shareNo it was the god awful bad guy at the end. Also they played around with it to much, the 2 parallel cop drama thing was diluting each story line. Also while some shows can have a murder mystery which predates the episodic nature of the show (mentalist) Awake didn't have enough emotion either way for that to work. His wife and kid was both technically alive, so his obsession with the killer of either his kid or his wife just didn't quite make sense. So they were forced into a corner where they had to focus on the aspect of his reality. Which while being a good concept, is a novelty to be left alone until he had to choose which reality was real or something.

Whether they find life there or not, I think Jupiter should be considered an enemy planet.
I think they did a pretty decent job of filling the season with scenarios different enough to remain interesting. A second season might have been a challenge, but this one didn't deserve the quick cancellation it got. Perhaps they were embarrassed by the low rating for the premiere, and this was their face-saver, to cancel it.
I thought the original idea was dumb, but after watching a couple of episodes I was looking forward to the next and the next. Plausible, no, but who cares, it's fantasy, and we are surrounded by reality, no need to watch it on TV.
It's a mystery to me too. I'll never understand how rubbish like House, Castle, Nikita and True Blood ever got more than one season, but this gets cancelled. It sucks

but another show is coming out that is the same premise, just with a lady lead.
it is called 'black box' and will show on ABC and stars kelly reilly as dr cat black. it was also sold internationally.

cancelled because nbc gave it two episodes. didn't even give it a full season worth of airing to make a decision. "oh this new show we've barely promoted didn't do well it's first two episodes ever? welp better cancel it" - NBC
