The Baroness

In the Hitchcock version, it was clear that Miss Froy was a spy. I didn't catch why the baroness was after Miss Froy. What was going on there?

The baroness's brother was the chief suspect in the shooting death of an intellectual but he claimed to be in Venice at the time of the murder. Miss Froy knew that wasn't true because while on a walk around the estate she ran into the brother. As she told Miss Carr she was surprised to see him because she had been told he was away when he clearly wasn't. The brother must have told the baroness Miss Froy saw him, thus blowing his Venice cover so they had to get rid of her.

Are you sure it was Venice? Thought I heard Vienna?

The IMDB site says, "Create a new list", but how could I create an old one?

Thank you so much! I hate when I watch something and then at the end I realize I have missed a major plot point. Unfortunately, it happens rather more often than I would care for.😞
