91 minutes of my life I'll never get back

Only once before have I felt compelled to log in and write a negative review. Usually I only take time to write about things I find extremely positive. This movie was so bad, I just had to add my two cents. An hour and a half of shaky-cam, POV film style was almost more likely to make me throw up than the story. I rented this movie for my kids. My 16 year old made fun of it and my 5 year old enjoyed it (I thought she'd be bored to tears after the first 10 minutes). I can't see anyone beyond a (not so bright) tween kid enjoying this film. I enjoy almost all of the films my kids like, and can't remember any that I distinctly disliked, so it's not like I'm some old curmudgeon who doesn't like kids films. But this one was just awful. The kids were not too bright, the alien seemed to be a rip-off of Bubo, the golden robotic bird from 1981's "Clash of the Titans" and a very poor rip-off at that, the plot was ridiculous and the situations they got into highly improbable. I now need to pop in another DVD to cleanse my mind of just having watched this pitiful drivel.
