Hathaway is great!

Was not her biggest fan. That's changed. She's lovely!

Also people who think she's too loud sometimes should see this movie. She can express things even without a single dialogue only through her eyes. That's pretty much rare. Looking forward to see more of her movies.

Agree.

Her most subdued role of her career. She really shines through eye acting and mannerisms.

reply

Sorry, but she's intolerable- as usual.

reply

If you think that she's intolerable, then you obviously don't know anything about acting... All critics praise her performances in the most if not all the films she's in...People say it too... But you're stuck in your hate and jealousy as every single person does with somebody who is successful...

reply

I agree, she's unpleasant. Love Johnny Smith music though so I watched the movie.

Intolerable is the last thing I would say about Anne Hathaway. She's gorgeous, talented and intelligent. And I agree with the OP. She goes on a different level with her acting in this movie.

reply

She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag brah. Far too histrionic- you can always see her "acting" and that destroys any possibility of verisimilitude.

Confirmed- Hathaway AWFUL 0/10

I think people are inclined to automatically hate on her because her look--with the big doe-eyes and cheekbones and luxurious hair--translates into such obvious beauty. Like maybe those looks will squeak you past if you don't have any serious depth of talent. The Princess movies seemed to be about the right speed.

But she blew that death scene in Les Mis out of the water--raw and ugly and brave. Hard to believe that someone is actually tortured and suffering when she's singing into a camera about six inches away from her face, but damn if she didn't pull it off.

I think Anne is a wonderful actress! I loved her performance in this film!

Just saw the movie.....she was great in it! Speaks more through her eyes than most actors do with pages of dialogues.
