*beep* title that implies an epic story to a simple beat em up...

Seriously "Injustice : Gods among us" may look cool from the outside.. but in fact its just a simple beat em up with little to no story. As with ALL beat em ups the story is only secondary to the actual action.

I mean who cares if one of the heroes goes berserk or something? You just have to fight. May be they should rather keep such an awesome story for a more epic adventorous or smart game where you can actually explore characters and worlds of the DC universe.

Look your clearly not a fan of fighting games so why are you here?

I'm not here because its DC or necessarily the story line either. I'm excited and will buy it for the gameplay only, how can you say its simple anyway you've never played it.

There actually is a story with this game. DC is releasing a comic every week (I don't know how many issues there will be; there's six so far) that talks describes the events leading up to the game. The basic idea is that Superman takes over and Batman and some other heroes(and possibly villians) try to stop him.

Yeah it's either a monthly or weekly comic series. While there is a story behind it the story does basically sound like they are doing Irredeemable with Superman.

An equation for me has no meaning unless it expresses a thought of God.

I'd like to kindly point you in the direction of Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe.

While that game may be less-than-stellar in many ways, the one thing I praise most about it is that the game actually has a story to it. One that isn't left in the background as a barely-mentioned excuse, and has the action take place AROUND it.

Netherealm Studios recent Mortal Kombat reboot (which I personally refuse to call Mortal Kombat 9. THERE'S NO NUMBER IN THE TITLE, DAMMIT!) is yet another prime example of the story being brought to the forefront in the single-player campaign, even if that story is a re-imagining of the events of the first three games.

As for the idea of Superman becoming an evil dictator, I quite like it. While it isn't exactly new, its not something that is done often outside of the comics. Not to mention, its nice to see that at least some writers out there genuinely realize the potential for effectively making Superman a God.

To quote Batman himself...

"It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then... he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him..."

We all have our problems, some just hide it better.
