State falsehood


Funny how they kept using the words "state falsehood" throughout the first series! Must be a French term which doesn't have a proper English word.

And sad that even the "good guys" didn't expose the state falsehood when they had the chance - so the black guy died for nothing.

Maybe this will be dealt with in the second season

"State lie" would be a more apt translation, but some of the subtitling in this series was quite poor.

If the opposite of Love is indifference, what's the opposite of Hate?

I am far from certain as I am not a native French speaker but from context the implication of the phrase when used seems to be closest to "cover up", at least more so than any other English expression I an think of.
