What did I watch

I love Stephen King and most of his movies but this one didn't make any sense. First for the first half of the movie is the husband there or not? Is he just part of her imagination from all the pills he is on? Second when it does look like he is finally with her when the wedding happens they go home and she instantly kills him she doesn't ask questions and goes with what's been in her head doesn't make sense to me. What was the twist to this if anything because her killing her husband doesn't really make us feel bad for him if he did indeed kill those women. Also there was a part where the detective made it sound like the 2 of them were working together to kill these women which doesnf make sense. Overall this movie seeming extremely confusing.

Yes the husband is there, it is quite clear that he is. The fuzzy sequences are nightmares. I think she knew quite early that he would not and could not change, hence she decided that she would kill him and save herself and her children of the public knowledge that their father was a serial rapist and killer.

The detective suspected that she was in on the murders because of the name that her husband used on the letters to the police: Beady aka BD. He believed that this meant Bob and Darcy. Later we find out that Beady was the name of a late friend of Bob.

Did you even watch the movie?

I agree with Calik. It is confusing. At first. And I don't think Calik was arguing "what" happened. I think Calik was saying "why" is this happening. The detective has a razor thin reason to follow them around town. And let's not forget how the husband seems to be able to walk through walls i.e., how did he get out of the diner and into his car before his last murder victim did? She walked out long before him and had to pay for his food yet in the next scene he is in his car watching her exit the diner. So yes, in my opinion, there are scenes such as this that make the story confusing, weak and anti-climactic. I love Stephen King and own most of his novels but this screenplay was not worthy of the Master of Horror (and yes I realize he writes more than just horror novels).

The movie is good. The written story is even better. I recommend the book.

Your post was very confusing. I was wondering if I had watched the same movie.
The husband was definitely there except for when he went on a business trip, but even then, he called her while out of town.
Maybe you were on your phone or at the computer or maybe you were watching two movies simultaneously??? You ovbiously weren't paying much attention.
