Vastly underrated

Is it just me? Perhaps it caught me at the right time, I'm not sure, but this flick had me terrified.

Sure, it has it's problems, but boy does it have it's *beep* moments!

Loved that you never really got a good look at the killers, I'd have gone even further and showed even less - the little of them that you did see took away from the dread - chubby ins't scary.

After I got done watching it, I felt spooked the rest of the day.

The caveat to the above is that I'm a big fan of the found footage genre, so perhaps it's bias, but I'd say as a fairly hardened horror fan, this thing really got to me.

P.S. I'm not a stooge, just genuinely surprised more people didn't dig this. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on these guys.

It was putrid.

I'm not a fan of the inherent deceit behind 'found footage' in that I've never really seen one where I can believe it's what it's trying to be. It's worse than a movie saying "based on true events". But beyond that, and in other posts here, I couldn't get over what scum the victims were in general, and the only feelings they evoked were annoyance and disgust.

SPOILER

That said, when Danielle's time came, I was genuinely surprised. I hate to say it's because I wouldn't have thought anyone dumb enough to not see a full-sized camper until... but still. I actually dropped my jaw for a second. Too bad it happened right when she stopped being such a moody b-, but what ya gonna do.

Trust me when I say that this movie scared the *beep* at me! I was constantly tensed up and was terrified constantly from the first death and on. I will agree that the little reveal of the guys was a little downer but was still tense even still lol.

I too am a fan of the of the found footage genre but will admit to seeing some horrible ones. This not included.

The two genres this movie fits into (found footage, and city-slickers-meet-murderous-locals) are so common now that it's hard to appreciate a new offering. But this one was more enjoyable to me than most, even though it couldn't feel new and different.

I like that it took place in Canada, where I can believe there are still areas (further North, at least) with no cell signals and no authorities around. A lot of these movies take place in Appalachia, which simply isn't all that backwoodsy anymore. Also, I like that much of the movie took place in the car, without direct contact between the victims and their pursuers--more fun that the usual stab-em-up movie.
