Update: The above forum entry, with 50+ replies from all over the world asking for a third season was somehow deleted. Another one which still is online (SVT replied as late as September 12 that they still don't have any info if there'll be a third season): http://www.svt.se/tittarservice/fraga-oss/dialog/425332
So there may not be a third season? Has a decision been reached by any chance? ____________ I'm something new entirely. With my own set of rules. I'm Dexter. Boo.
I google translated this article and it reports that SVT has ordered a third season and that writing for season 3 has already begun. Slated for a early 2015 release. I guess all we can do for now is sit back and wait. :/
That article was posted in Sep 2013 so I wouldn't really count on a third season until it's confirmed by SVT - they replied as late as 24 June 2014 that it isn't yet (see http://www.svt.se/tittarservice/fraga-oss/dialog/425332).
Very true but series have sadly been cancelled like that before... Anyway you'd think being such a success in so many countries the funding shouldn't be a problem, which otherwise is often the reason for cancellation.
Found another article, this one more recent from June this year.
Good news for fans of "Äkta människor 'third season since Swedish series should be released in 2015.
While nothing is official yet, it is virtually assured that the "Real Humans" series (or Äkta människor VO) will erect a season 3, which will be released sometime in 2015 in Sweden, and So again later in France. But the creator prefers his side to be careful, even if confirmed to have started writing the third season that everyone looks forward to.
"We do not yet know if Real Humans will be a third season . Swedish channel that broadcasts we had not yet decided. All we can do is wait and hope. But if it must be done, I know exactly what I want to tell in this season, and have already written several episodes. I will not say more to avoid spoilers you, "it said in an interview with the creator the series by Allocine.
For cons, the "Real Humans" series will erect an English remake which should offer even greater fame in the now legendary series. Good news for fans. -Translated by Google
Since several eps for season 3 has already been written, I suppose, it's internal conflicts within SVT that's preventing the green light? Not sure if this is true or not but I read somewhere that while Real Humans is well received critically, the ratings are just low/average? Maybe that's why they're hesitant towards renewing it?
'"Real Humans" or "Äkta människor" in its original version, perhaps there will be no season 3, as announced spin-site off.fr. A source working for the Swedish chain SVT1 their confirmed Season 2 of the sci-fi anticipation would be the last.
Hearings recorded by the chain are indeed far from satisfactory. Throughout the season, they have continued to fall and never reached the numbers of the first season. In France, on the contrary, a Real Humans very well on Arte , often over a million viewers.
The hope is still there
However, fans can rest assured, always contacted by Spin-off, Lars Lundström, the creator of the series, said he was still "hope" to see her back on the small screen for a third season. D especially since an English remake is in the pipeline and is planned for next year. '
So, if Lars Lundström, the creator of this extraordinary series says there's still hope for a third season, we better believe him. I'm not surprised it's not a big success with the Swedish audience - Ingmar Bergman usually wasn't either.
SVT has yet again replied that they still have no info if there'll be a third season. It's quite obvious that a third season is being discussed, otherwise we'd had a "no" answer a long time ago.
Bron, SVT's other big international success, wasn't renewed for a third season until more than 6 months after the last episode of season 2. Now it's been more than 7 months since the last episode of season 2 of Äkta människor was broadcast; not a massive difference, especially as Bron is after all a much greater success (in terms of the amount of viewers, that is).
I don't mind the wait. Everything says discussions or some form of confirmation. It seems that they've given the okay, but since it's still being written they haven't given official dates. the author is also in works with Channel 4 for the U.K. remake, so they're probably both allowing him time for a quality product and for the remake release which could boost popularity and demand for the original product. There's more good in giving it time than rushing it.
::I give into sin because you have to make this life livable... Because I practice what I preach::
Good question. Here's hoping the U.S. adaptation is worthy of the original. "Bron" was pretty solid as "The Bridge" ____________ I'm something new entirely. With my own set of rules. I'm Dexter. Boo.
I couldn't care less about a UK remake. I just want a 3rd season from Sweden. Same actors and actresses, thanks. How can they leave us hanging like that? I never really understood the value of remakes. Generally, they are a disaster compared to originals.
