What the hell was Thomas' problem in the sack?

What, he can't get it up for his wife anymore? But he can for an imaginary blonde??

His wife was 'dumped up' for the film, but she isn't ugly!

Lots of men have that problem. You sound horribly naive, sorry.

'Lots of men' aren't attracted to their wives anymore?

Then they're not too swift, sorry. Why not get a divorce.

Husbands make themselves sound like they're Eric Roberts meets Christian Bale.
I imagine lots of wives feel that way too.

It is a very common problem

As a female, I'm very curious now:

Why exactly do men get this problem?? Is it boredom with the wife? Or is it purely physical?

I think in some cases its stress related, everyday routine, etc - I think he was attracted to his wife but he ended up having mental problems as well, especially to do what he did for a girl he never met ??? Tom also had a problem w/aging - mid life crisis but its no excuse for what he did, and the "other person" should be held responsible as well because she played "twisted games" w/these guys and I consider "her" just as guilty as Tom ! I feel bad for Tom's wife, and children - its based on a true story so just think how his family must feel. Sorry I started ranting; but it makes me sick how people play games w/other people's life on the internet, which can be a dangerous place. Catfish really opened my eyes to all the sickos out there, not that I have ever chatted w/strangers on the internet - I know better and I wish people would be more careful.

his personal dissatisfaction was with himself, not his wife. a lot of times the impotence a man gets is psychological (rather than due to any physical health issues) and has to do with their own personal mental and emotional issues. He wanted, apparently quite desperately, to be someone and something that he wasn't.
