Will any white people see this?

shareare you suggesting that because the movie has a predominately black cast that whites may be reluctant to see it? Discuss.
shareThe question should be "will anyone" see this. Discuss.

when a movie like "22 Jump Street" or "Neighbors" or any other teen comedy with a predominately white cast comes out, no one ask "will black people see this" so I'm confused as to why the topic of the race of people who will see it is relevant?
shareBecause traditionally (based on statistics), snd specifically with regards to media (not real life stuff), 'black' movies/shows are seen as a subset based on their ethnicity, whereas 'white' shows are considered more mainstream. So if something is perceived as being about/for the black community then its more likely to be ignored by mainstream white/brown audiences. There are numerous exceptions no doubt, and its hard to define what constitutes the perception, but generally this appears to be so. This can also be true if the show is considered specifically 'christian', whereby its audiences will be predominantly more 'church-going'. I cant find specific stats to prove this but it is at least considered true by many observers. Thus the OP is stating that in their opinion this movie will be perceived to be made for a specifically black audience and thus very few white people will watch it. His 'any' is obvious hyperbole.
shareI have to agree with your response as much as I don't want to. I just think that OP should have explained his position on the topic rather than just posting the question in the subject bar and asking us to discuss and not giving his point of view or his reasons for the topic in the first place.
shareI was planning to watch this with my girlfriend. We're both white.
don't bother... totally not worth the effort. Just rap music with dirty lyrics, and the usual attempts to get people to laugh at things which are neither cute nor funny. It's kind of sad to see that most black movies are meant for people with a low double digit iq, when it would be possible to create an attractive comedy.

shareYeah, watching it now. Movie tries hard to be funny. A few good lines. Decent sound track though.
You Gotta Be in it to Win it!
movie wasn't all that IMO
***** Team Deathstroke *****
Well I saw it...
Ministrel show for the 2010's except we don't need white people to paint their faces black in this one, the black cast are happy to make a buffoonery out of themselves and black people in general and reinforce negative stereotypes for a little bit of dough
Have you ever stared fear and danger in the eye and said; YES?
