Entire film was problematic.

Reasoning was entirely fallacious. It reminded me of how virulently homophobic people argue their point by constantly implying that homosexuality is related to pedophilia. Its really a disgusting method of argument and its sad to see it repeated by this guy, who conflates sex work of adults with actual crimes like raping children. Its just intellectually dishonest, and that's the least one can say about such a mentality.

Its a film that even brings in pornography as part of the problem. Again, conflating decisions of grown adults who can make their own life decisions and true victims. To make the argument that all pornography is rape or exploitation is to assume other people aren't free to make their own decisions, and that they are lesser than you for choosing different. I'm sure a homophobe would have trouble figuring out why anyone would be gay but it doesn't mean that gay people must be forced into it. Again, you see the same line of thought, homophobes are severely concerned with "gay recruitment" because they think the only way people would choose such a thing is through being forced or tricked into it. It just doesn't make sense.

Furthermore gay men are huge consumers and producers of pornography, I guess men exploiting men? They must hate other men and disrespect other men? Or maybe the issues not that simple.

Anyways societies which are most closed up about sex are the most anti woman around. Its like the documentary maker didn't look around at reality a bit before jumping to his conclusions. Its places like Saudi Arabia where even pornography is illegal where sexual perversion is worst, where it twists society and its treatment of women in the most severe way. And this is born out in history, any time you go prohibitionist against such things, you create unintended results.

This guy documents the waste of police going after johns who only use the underground market for sex because people like the filmmaker support this system. They support prohibition which gives criminals a monopoly, no different from alcohol or drugs, when you drive things under ground you remove the protection of the law from the business, you create criminals, you put the worst people in power positions and you create much suffering. But prohibitionists do not care about actual results of their personal moral crusades. They don't think about consequences. No different from pro life people who dream of a ban on all abortion, but who's concern stops once the unwanted baby is born.

And it comes down to personal rights of individuals. People have a right to choose for themselves, they have a right to make their own personal moral decisions. and saying you can't sell sex is imposing personal morality on everyone else. Part of the problem with guys like this director is that their concern comes from a patronizing place, he's concerned with protecting people who are "less than" he is, in a way he treats women as children incapable of making their own choices, thus its up to people like him to make their decisions for them.

The constant images of child models trying to conflate sex industry with molestation of children or pedophilia... just not acceptable at all. And by wasting police resources on things like prostitution, people like this director help ensure theres no justice for actual victims of rape. Like any previous prohibitionist crusader, this guy creates the problems he's complaining about...in fact they make it far worse. The war on drugs cost how much? I wonder how much money has been spent on vice squads as well. Its all money that could have been used to make society better in real ways.
