I couln´t understand the joke about the swiss friend supposedly gay nike name Plum (prune in french).

Some french speaker can me explain the relationship between plum and gay (prune et gay).

I just saw this movie on French tv so I can explain : one kind of plum is in French a "reine claude", a "queen claude" so then, with the word "queen" a slang for gay....
