So... who are the bad guys according to whoever made this movie?

The terrible disposition of the story, bad acting, horrible music, unfunny gags, and all other upchuck aside; who were the actual villains in this film?

After having endured this flotsam to the very end, I get the uneasy feeling that the Russians were made out to be just as bad as the Germans if not worse. The Americans were, of course, clean-cut upstanding fellas who just wanted to return the art. No looting here, no Sir-ee!
