I really like the show. I just have a question.

I watched episode 1 again, and everyone knows when you watch a show twice you catch things or think about things you haven't before. I am curious as to why the police officers didn't catch up to Joe's *beep* story when it came to Hanky's story? I mean it would make no sense for Hanky to do the deal without him and go too far ahead with out Joe. The extent he went to get Joe to do the deal, it would be suspicious if He did it without Joe. Everyone knew Hanky was well acquainted and knew not to mess with the mob without protection. I mean he knew Mickey Cohen since he was a child. He knew about the stuff they did to people. He knew not to be that stupid than to do a transaction without protection. I mean if I was a cop I'd question Joe's story based on that.

Also what about the cops at the marsh a half a mile away. Did they not see Sids's car drive off and most Importantly see that Joe indeed was right behind Hanky's car? I mean I remember the cops saying that the vantage point to get to was hard, but not to see. If darkness was a issue they still should have been able to spot two cars heading up first.: They could easily decipher that it is Joe and Hanky. Then another car shows up 5 min later, well you can deduce that is the mobsters. Then only one car leaves. You can correctly guess the mobsters left. Then two cars are still at the marsh. A gun shoot is fired. You mean to tell me the cops couldn't hear the gun shot at least 3 of them from half a mile away? If they didn't okay....maybe I'm over estimating that part, but the fact remains that no other car came to the marsh from the time the shots were fired until the time the police arrive, which apparently they didn't see because they didn't know anything, which leads me to guess they couldn't see anything...ugh....The police would have seen a fourth car arriving which would be Joe's car who would have came to the scene to find Hanky dead. Instead what it shows us is that the cops were too dumb to see and put together the fact that the timing of the shooting was off and that Joe's story didn't fit.

Why would the police be at a vantage point where they can't see? They should have easily seen that Joe was there the whole time. That Joe didn't come late that no other person shot Hanky, I mean binoculars existed during these times...find a way to fit them into the police budget.

Also the one cop can tell that Joe knows Jazz by the simple fact that he makes coffee for her without asking how she takes it. Well that's dumb because he instructed Joe to make her coffee, which is outside the interrogation room. Joe wouldn't have gone in the room to ask her than walked out and went back to making coffee, especially since the interrogating was starting. I mean she didn't even take a sip of the coffee he sat in front of her, so that indeed could just be the simple fact that Joe made coffee any ole way and just put it in front of her. Unless the other cop saw Joe making it a special way like 4 creams, 2 sugars etc.

What solidified me knowing they knew each other was body language. They way she looked at him. The way joe just stood real far to the back to avoid a lot. The way even when she was being questioned by him, he couldn't do it. He let her walk out. Talk about bad cop moment. That was a wrap for me. I was like okay. Well there were earlier signs, but I'm referring to things the other cop would have saw to put two and two together,

Also wtf...I know it's the 40's but damn they didn't even really question the girl, Dale I forgot his name in the show, he's the old guy. I'm confused as to why he put Joe in charge of her...of all people....it's obvious he has some type of relationship and is hiding stuff. I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him...and I wouldn't be able to move Joe lol.

WOW...that's a lot of words

I don't think it was that Hank wanted to do the deal without Joe. I don't recall exactly, but it was something like, Joe said he had either gotten there late or hank came in from another direction & missed Joe's car. Either way, Hank went up the hill because he thought he was meeting Joe. At least that's how Joe played it off.

But I haven't seen it since it came out, so I can't remember exactly. But I do recall that the reason made sense because there is no way the cops should suspect Joe of anything at this point. So why wouldn't they believe him?

Dale didn't know that Shane knew the femme fatale. Maybe Dale figured Shane thought she was hot, but he had no idea they were married.
