Is Kim's mom jealous?

Tonight was my first time watching the show and I only saw bits and pieces but after seeing Kim's mom behavior at the reception I have to ask, is she jealous of Kim and Kroy? What was that whole conversation about that she and her sister had? "[Kim] is a selfish bitch. She wouldn't be where she is were it not for you." Really? That's what you're thinking on your daughter's wedding day?

She acted so inappropriately, barging in the house and causing a stir and giggling about it. I would have booted her too!

P.S. I cannot stand Kim but my dislike of her does not blind me to the fact that her mother was clearly out of line.

I agree. While, I enjoy watching Kim's antics, I am no fan of Kim and I can still honestly say that her mother was acting disgusting.

Oh don't be ridiculous, Andrea. Everybody wants this. Everybody wants to be us.

reply

She came off as very petty, self-centered, and attention-seeking to me.

Poor mother of the bride being asked to leave because she acted like an ass. Boo hoo. Feel sorry for her.

Please!

I think the jealousy goes way back. I think Kim's mom competed with Kim for the father's affection as well.
I thought it was really creepy when Kim's father tried to kiss her when they were dancing. It didn't look like the kind of kiss a father gives his daughter. And Kim pushed him away... It was just creepy.

I wish these guys would stop jumping

I thought Kim's dad's kisses were odd, too. They were too...lingering. Plus, the way he told the minister that he thought Kim would marry an "Italian stallion" like him was weird. That's an implicitly sexual term so why would you refer to yourself that way when speaking of your daughter?

Yes, lingering! I didn't see the other kisses but when he kissed her at the altar, I believe, I thought the same thing.

I think he's a bit of an attention monger. Maybe her mother is as well.

I never once saw in the show Kim's mom seeking any more attention than I would expect of a woman who's daughter is in a tv show. She was excited to be involved in all that went on, and that is all I saw. At the reception, she was insulted that they were locked out of the house and I can understand that too. I don't think her reaction to security was right, but her reaction of very natural. They are all very low class people all dressed up in finery. However, you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig.
