What was the deal with Cross?(Spoilers)

At the end when you go to Abstergo to get your father back his face glows and he freaks out. Is that ever explained? Also Shaun says he was like "the" assassin he kind of seemed inept. First you disarm with ease in the cutscene in the office then you kick his as$ in Brazil in a pretty average fight then the glowing thing happens. He wasn't very intimidating.

Don't know why, but I always got the feeling that Cross was actually told to lose the first encounter (if not both the first 2) since Vidic never seemed bothered by it, but as for the second encounter, Rebecca (I think, though it could be Shaun) explains in an optional conversation when you get back to the cave that he suffered from really bad bleeding effect.

Abyssus est iustus a vox. Animadverto est ultum, ultum peior

Thanks I thought it might be bleeding effect, but didn't have that conversation.

Remember that Desmond learned to fight like Ezio in the previous games. That would make him nearly invincible in hand-to-hand combat.

I don't understand it either. At first I thought Desmond used the Apple on him.

But I just dont know

"It's true... I read it on Wikipedia"

But Altair and Connor were good in hand to hand combat too.
