Revelations: They perfectly handled wrapping up the lives of the first two heroes and that's the best combat, money system, and traversal system of the series.

Brotherhood: The inclusion of the other assassins was very fun, the story was personal, and it has better combat than AC2 and AC1.

AC3: The Desmond stuff was boring and rushed, but Connor was pretty good. They handled Haytham almost perfectly, but Lee felt like a lame main villain in-comparison to how cool he was. Connor feels like a little bit of an idiot for helping the people who will soon commit a holocaust against his people.

AC2: Good intro to a new hero, but relies on other games to really finish the story, much like AC3. The mission design, world, and combat are WAY better than AC1.

AC1: It had potential, but it was lazy and unfinished. It was basically 4 or 5 side activities (eavesdrops, trail, etc) in a loop.

3 is my all time favourite and I honestly dont understand the hate its getting here. The gameplay is amazing, combat system is the best it has ever been, ship sequences are friggin amazing. The story is really interesting I really loved how Connor isnt what you would expect in an assassin and people are complaining about that for some reason.
I honestly didnt like Revelations that much because the story with ezio was dull and the tower defense was incredibly annoying. They should have just made it an Altair game and leave ezio where he was.

AC 2 < one of my all time favourite games in the 30 years i have been gaming
Brotherhood
AC 1
Revelations
AC3

I have this on PC, the controls are utter crap, the controls were perfect in the others using KB/mouse, it can be most frustrating, for instance trying to sneak in grass he starts climbing and is seen arrrrrgh!!

I am really missing Jesper Kyd's soundtrack style in this, the games audio seems empty

Conner is dull

i hate the history snippets with the "humour", i preferred the more historically serious history info cards in the others

i find the setting boring, i loved the other games settings

most of the time it doesnt feel like the other games do, i put that down to the main director of the others not being involved in this one, the pacing isnt right

Not to break the topic, but why in the world does Revelations gets so much hate? Only thing I didn't like about it was Den Defense, otherwise I'd say it's a definite improvement over all previous games.

For me it's
AC:2
AC:3
AC:Brotherhood
AC:Revelations
AC:1

I dunno why Revelations is so disliked either really - like you I wasn't keen on Den Defence, but it was a tiny part of the game and the rest of it I loved and the bombs were great fun. Really the only reason it comes behind AC:2 and AC:Brotherhood for me is I loved the Italian settings.

I dunno why people hate AC1 so much, it was a great game which was improved on like all games, for people to say it was short etc shows what people want in games, more eye candy and more to do while they forget about the engrossing story lines, lore and history.

The last few days talking to people about AC3 they wanted to do it all without doing all the 100% sync stuff, essentially people just want to rush through a game and then at the end say how bad it was.

AC3 had a good story line also for people willing to go through it all. I will admit it didn't feel finished somewhat, the ending was not the best and made ME3's ending look tame in comparison.

For me I cannot put the games in a top 5 list, its impossible, each have their unique things that you cannot compare with the rest. But Altair is still the most recognised among all 4 Assassin characters (5 if you include the hand held femme fatale you play)
