Haha - the creators aren't the smartest ones

Showing Budapest (Hungary) at the beginning of the film and calling it Warsaw (Poland). Really?
Get your facts straight!
This is just plain stupid

reply

Actually, it's Bucharest, Romania. :)

In film, all kinds of places are used to portray all kinds of other places all the time. The point is that the supposed jurisdiction of location (for example, Warsaw, Poland) might not like what is depicted as taking place there and deny permission for shooting. Hence, Bucharest, Romania, for example, is used. Or budgetary constraints or convenience are controlling. The TV show "NYPD Blue," as an instance, was filmed in Los Angeles, though set in New York City. When you show a very noted landmark or geographical feature that's out of place, however, it can be a howler, as in the Jackie Chan movie "Rumble in the Bronx," which was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, and shows snow-capped mountains in the background of "da Bronx"!

well said.

Thank you!

Unless someone moved the Chain Bridge - and the Danube River - to Romania, that early shot is indeed of Budapest. (Yes, there are other scenes filmed in Romania.)

Telling a story Amsterdam and show, in one of only few shots, a spanish store sign, an Irish car, a german beer sign and French type street name. im baffled.

its a cheap thrill storyline. quick editing and punchline quotes wont fix bad stories.

I actually thought the initial shot looked like a sound stage...some very bad greenscreen/color correction in this film too...I'm just not sure if it was on purpose or not. :/

Looking for something to criticize? I look for something entertaining or interesting. I know a fiction film is not a documentary.

reply

Exactly! It's just a film; it gets its message and story accross pretty well IMO. If there a few location goofs that don't majorly break the story, so what??
Some folk really need to spend their time doing more constructive things, or even just live in the real world where no-one give's 2 $hits about these things ;-)

reply

Many, many films set in New York are actually filmed in Toronto, smart one.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

The real challenge is finding a smaller nit.
