"I love her the same way I love you"

Ethan says to his ex-wife, about his own daughter, literally right before he has sex with her....

Well, as they say in the tampon biz, see you next period.

He means, as family.

Way to make it sound even creepier! Lol, I know what you mean.

Truly, he means UNCONDITIONALLY, despite the fact he is not [oft] physically present, emotionally available, or even AWARE of HOW to love them... He loves them.
Psychologically, this makes a lot of sense, and is a common thing, especially among males/men who do not "know how to love". Many are not taught how to love, and it is not emphasized with males in most cultures; thus, it becomes a "dirty"/pathetic cycle. (Pathetic in its true definition, not slang usage.)
They might not show it (esp in ways we understand), but they do feel it. In a bizarre way, it can make their love more "unconditional".

Ahh... Dear old dads.

That was indeed a wtf-moment.

This is phrased weird. Sounds like you are saying he has sex with his daughter!

reply

I think he was just telling his wife that he still loves her.

reply

It was the next scene, but it wasn't literally right before they slept together.

reply

Although I do understand that he meant this line as family, I too thought this line was crazy at first. It does sound like he is saying he loves his daughter in the same sexual way he loves his wife.
Basically, that line was just poorly written seeing how many of us had the same thought process.

reply

Exactly.

reply

He should have had a threesome.

Yeah the dialogue was pretty sh!t in this one...

In the end the ex wife says something like "you can win me back with just one word, but it has to be the right one"

And Kevin responds: "It's christmas"

Wife: "That's two words"

Really??? Christmas is 2 words? Since when?... If she's refering to the it's bit then it's is in fact 2 words by themselves it and is (which the 's bit is short for in it's) so that's 3 words, but in no way could anyone say that what Kevin responded with was 2 words...

Also he killed 4 people in his first job back from retirement ( 3 inside the hotelroom one bald guy and 2 guys with supposed moustaches and he killed the guy outside on the lookout as well) and and Amber heard says that once he's killed half a dozen people he's free to go and Kevin's response is:

"Well that means I'm halfway done, considering I killed 3 people just now"

It's like no one proof read the script for errors or anything

I'm gonna refuse you an offer you can't make
