The movie kinda sucks, it would have been better if when asked what they were trying to do there all those years ago, if the old man had just replied, "We were trying to win the war." instead of a really dumb dialog about trying to make living weapons... because it would have been 1) more realistic, because that is actually what the Japanese were doing there, trying to win the war, and 2) more visceral, heartfelt, and effective.

Anyway, this movie pretty much sucked.

Of course they were trying to win the war.
That's what their medical experiments were all about.
To create an army of super soldiers or human weapons.
So it can help them to win the war.
What's so hard about understanding that?
The dialog concerning this isn't stupid at all.
That's what this whole story about.

It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.
