the soldiers *spoilers*

This movie was pretty decent. It was entertaining. There was one part that didn't make sense to me. The soldiers in the armor that came awake towards the end.. The Japanese obviously made the formula work, since they were created and had been standing around for 70 years. Why wouldn't they have used those soldiers in WW2? What's the point of funding an experiment and succeeding but then not using the end result?

Also, something else that bothered me. The rich guy.. he hired what looked like mercenaries to protect him on the expedition. If you're going into an area you need armed escort, why would you bring your girlfriend along and put her in danger?

I agree. It's not a great movie, but kind of entertaining. I don't regret watching it.

It's possible they didn't figure out the formula until the very end and simply didn't have enough gold or way off the islands to use it. Besides, they would probably need some kind of command orders from the Home Islands.

Also, I guess he hired the mercenaries mainly BECAUSE his girlfriend was coming.

It would still be a foolish thing to do to bring her along. If you need to hire mercenaries for a certain situation then that means it's not meant to be a sightseeing tour.
Or a romantic getaway.
Also what use was she anyway on the expedition?. She appeared to an Asian version of a
dumb blonde.
Didn't look like she was capable of anything but screaming and running away.
She certainly wasn't a Jill Valentine (Female character from Resident Evil series).

It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.
