Okay movie, but...

I have a totally normal life, a job, a family, and I have an imaginary friend. I'm an adult. Why do movies always make imaginary friends out to be a mental illness? They aren't a mental illness, imaginary friends aren't always schizophrenia, sometimes adults have them as coping mechanisms, even as outlets for their creative writing or drawing, movies like these only make people less accepting of it. It wasn't a bad movie but that really annoyed me. 😞

This movie wasn't really saying that. The only one who really said it was her husband and he was an *beep*

I'm with you, I see nothing wrong with an imaginary friend, even for adults as a creative outlet or a coping mechanism. But I assume you have a grasp on reality and don't actually believe that you see your imaginary friend in the room with you or that they're talking to you.

Definitely not, if I started seeing my imaginary friend, actually visible to me, that wouldn't be a good sign. O_o
