Gran Torino directed by Wes Anderson

First thing I thought was this is Gran Torino like others have said, but it looks like it has a bit of a Wes Anderson feel. Bill seems a little like Royal Tenenbaum, and that shot of him and the kid running in slow motion reminds me of Royal running with Ari and Uzi.

More like 'About a Boy' meets 'Rushmore'. I hate Hugh Grant, but 'About a Boy' is pretty good, if you haven't seen it.

I saw it already and I can tell you this movie is far more accessible than any Wes Anderson movie. It plays broader and more mainstream. It doesn't have the whole quirky for being quirky sake aesthetic that Wes Anderson always employs. Not that this is a bad thing. I thought the movie was excellent. It was very emotional, well acted and the characters grow on you.

Edit: Far more accessible than any Wes Anderson other than Grand Budapest Hotel

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware this is the Internet BOOK Database.

Sorry but couldn't disagree more.

Other than the older, cantankerous neighbour helping out a young man - this is nothing at all like Gran Torino.

Nor, does it draw any comparisons to Wes Anderson's work IMO

Gran Torino? Where's the rape? Where's the shooting death of the main character? Where are bitter grown up kids?

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

It's more like About a Boy with Hugh Grant by the Weitz brothers.

The movie was like About a Boy meets Gran Torino but not at good as either.

When the stars are the only things we share
Will you be there?
