Wow, some major pent up Whites vs Mexicans anger.

I was shocked at how aggressively they pushed the theme of whites hating Mexicans and Mexicans hating whites. This movie won't be building any bridges that's for sure. But I guess that's not really what they were going for. Did any white viewers enjoy this?

I found it a decent horror anthology ... yeah there seemed to be a lot of race related hate one way or another but its just a film, its not like I am going to form the way I think about Mexicans or other white people or anyone based on this film...

The way to look at it is there are dick heads in every race ...story 1 the white people are the dicks they kill an innocent Mexican girl, story 2 the Mexican cook is a nutter...if you think about it in that way it just shows all types of people have the capacity for evil

Yeah people tend to get mad when you shoot at them while looking for work...

It was a bit heavy handed, but quite frankly, this IS how white people treat Mexicans and other nationalities. The way the maid was treated in the first part, as though she were stupid and no more than a slave was pretty dead on accurate.

The second part was making fun of the racist belief that Asian and Mexican restaurants feed their customers cats, or don't wash their hands. (Yet it's fine to slaughter cows by the millions every year?)

Don't take the movie too seriously. At the same time, consider how you yourself treat other people.

Yep yep. I thought this was the obvious theme that ran through all of the stories and the framework bit. Personally I found it interesting and didn't think the movie as a whole was all that bad. I had fun with it.

I grew up on the south side of Milwaukee and nobody treated Mexicans like that. We were all poor and were in it together

Has a lot to do with location. I grew up Southern California and saw a lot of Hispanic employees being treated like the maid in the first story. As well as people making comments about the cleanliness of of restaurants.

In a unique position that many people will make offhand comments not realizing I'm part Mexican.

I have had people talk down to me and then quickly apologize by saying "Sorry I thought you were the cleaning lady." Since when is it OK to talk down to anybody? I always get asked how I speak English so well or asked if I was adopted by a white family.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
