Anyone else think this was poorly constructed?


For someone with a limited knowledge of the Mexican political situation, I was told this was a film to check out that'd help fill in some gaps & give more context as to why people feel certain ways about PRI or PAN or PRD or whoever...

But, with such a limited knowledge, I found this movie ran through its history way too quickly, barely giving me a second to process the information & thus I'm left none-the-wiser after the viewing. All I really know is that people love Molotov (I don't get that either: homophobic and misoginst lyrics: yeah these guys really are champions of fairness) and don't like the politicians, regardless of the party they represent.

Interesting documentary, but very poorly constructed imo. Shame. I was hoping for so much more.

I disagree. I mean, where are you from? If you don't like the band you won't like the documentary...
Molotov is a band that fits in a cultural landscape that's been broken a thousand times. You can not expect a documentary that gathers a detailed and accurate description of Mexican history (including voices of those who disagree with the view portrayed by the director and the band) with that of a rock band that mostly challenges the hypocrisy behind a double-standard moral that naturalizes social inequalities. The keyword in the documentary is catharsis. Molotov represents that, but it also approaches politics to people that tend to shift the subject instead of
