The Soundtrack.

I already know the intro song and the song for the trailer and such, and I really loved the score they used for the entirety of the episodes. Definently added to the scenes where they kind of re-enacted history. But does anyone know where I might find the entirety of the soundtrack?

When they have Rockefeller running from subpoenas and Carnegie's life as a child, there was a particularly interesting cello/violin song in the background and it's killing me not being able to hear it without the show/documentary narration. :I

I came here looking for same info. If you find out please let me know

I've been searching every to try and find the music when Rockefeller is running away. I absolutely love it and can't find it anywhere. Great series, great music. Hopefully it will pop up somewhere soon.

I want to know what the music was that was playin when Andrew Carnegie opened the bridge over the Mississippi river in St Louis. It was very familiarbut I can't place it.

Any ideas ?

I "shazaamed" it on my iPhone, and it only came up with the TV show.

As far as I can tell most of the songs are provided by Two Steps from Hell, the one when Rockefeller is on the run is called "Fountain of Life" and the one that's playing when the elephant crosses Carnegie's bridge is called "Heart of Courage"

reply

Thanks! Those are the ones.

Oh man! Thank you so much! I should've guessed it was Two Steps From Hell they provide a heck of a lot of soundtrack assistance xD.

Thank you muchly!

Thank you so much.
been looking like forever for the "Heart of Courage"

Fountain of Life. I've been looking for that title for 3 years. They reused it in American Genius. Thank you so much, I was going crazy.

Thanks for those, guys.

I agree with sentiments expressed above hope there's a soundtrack of some kind or a full list that comes out. As far as I can tell, Two Steps From Hell has the only credit as far as the music for the series goes. If you can check out their stuff, you should be able to find virtually all of the music from the series. I enjoyed a lot of the smaller pieces. One of my favorites was the theme that was often played as Rockefeller or Carnegie would be walking around as the narrator described how their empires were growing exponentially - it was a perfect, almost frightful theme for giving a sense of escalation, impending power, unstoppable might, and wealth and operation growing to an almost unimaginable scale.

I love this series and the soundtrack for it! Thanks to CKdexhaven for finding those songs as I was looking for the “Heart of Courage” song that played. It appears the History Channel also used music from their WWII in HD and Vietnam in HD soundtracks which they released on iTunes. I believe that “Mount Legend” from the WWII in HD soundtrack was used when they show Rockefeller watching the oil pipeline being constructed. I think they also used “Protectors of the Earth” created by Two Steps from Hell under their real names Nick Phoenix & Thomas Bergersen from the Vietnam in HD soundtrack. I hope history continues to release their soundtracks on iTunes!

As a history teacher I would have to agree that I am not a big fan of a few of the shows on History. Shows like Ax Men, Swamp People, and Ice Road Truckers, while sometimes entertaining, are not history related at all. However shows like American Pickers and American Restoration offer a different view of history of American culture. The history of objects and collectibles is different but not everything can be a documentary and/or raw war footage. I like the new miniseries events that the History Channel has produced.

In regards to the soundtracks you are partially correct. Some of the music used in WWII in HD was produced specifically for that series. However a good portion of it is production music that the History Channel licensed to use. Because they paid for a license they are probably trying to get their money’s worth so they use it more than once. That’s why some of the same music is heard in WWII in HD, Vietnam in HD, The Men Who Built America and so on. However each series does include new music that the previous ones had not yet used.

Blues Saraceno – Save My Soul.

I love the soundtrack score in this program. Excellent! Very similar in style to Jan Hammer's scores for BATMAN movies, and Steve Jablonsky's scores for the TRANSFORMERS series. A+ (So where is the soundtrack CD?)
