I thought about going to see this movie an hour from now. But, 1% on Rotten Tomatoes? How? I'm not saying that I like or dislike this movie. I have no right to make an assessment because obviously I haven't seen it. And I'm sorry I'm not adding anything constructive to this board's conversation. But 1%????
That does not make it good though. The Room is a horrible movie, but just it is entertainingly bad does not mean it is still not a zero star movie. You are right though, for when there is a score that low on RT, it is interesting to see just what kind of train wreck it is.
Don't trust the critics. Even bad movies are fun. It's just fun to go and see a movie that got a 1% on RT.
Huskies are good at channeling Satan
I know I can't always trust each critic. I might still go to laugh at the film. And Huskies are amazing.

There was nothing fun about SpringBreakers unless you count the ~5 minutes of screen time that James Franco was part of. The other 85 minutes of that disaster was pure torture! I would have preferred to use that time to run a marathon with boots and a pizza box!
You dont have to trust critics but giving money to a movie that may be rubbish fuels the idea of Who cares if its any good, this group of people will pay to see anything that looks remotely entertaining
Absolutely. I am so tired of being wrong about a movie. I've been to the theater a lot and I get disappointed all the time. The worst part is that I encouraged those film's production by paying to see them.
Maybe he was one of the actors (like Kevin Bacon) who was ripped off my Bernie Madoff. Because all of a sudden, a career of picking and choosing and now one is on TV and the other is making this and The Purge.
I like the car "VV" seriously man. I have loved mustang whole of my life. 1976 Shelby was the best ever "My Elenore". This car I don't know what it runs on but i did got style. Next time Mr. director if you make such a pathetic movie make sure you get your getaway car refueled cause each time there was a jerk i was thinking oh man fuel tank got empty.
Critics are paid to actually evaluate movies, and cannot just ignore the shortcomings of the really bad ones like "Getaway".
Critics, given the nature of their professions, have to be wary of their reputations at all times. Casting a truly bad movie in a more positive light because they strangely enjoyed watching something that terrible, could turn them into the laughing stock among their peers and their readers. Also, RT is a Hot-or-Not type of website, and the 1% approval rating does not actually translate into a 1/10 or a similar rating. Instead, it states that 99% of critics found it to be below average, i.e. around ~4/10 on IMDB.
Since it has "cool chase scenes" it got 1% actually, wow.
My only question is simply. I'm not a dirt bike enthusiast. But the scene with the dirt bike (with semi-automatic) chasing the car confused me. He hits 100mph in the car, yet the Dirt Bike is right on his tail the whole time. I know there are 2 stroke and 4stroke bikes... but can they actually go 100mph smooth and easy while you shoot a gun with one hand and steer with the other?
