Am I honestly the only one who liked this movie?

sure it was cheesy, and it had a lot of problems within itself but why all the hate?
Over all I give it a 7/10...the chase scenes were cool...thats about it.

great car chases, visual effects and action in this movie...

I went to see this on the theatrical release date with my cousins.
We just came from The Indy Race events in Baltimore, Md so were looking forward to seeing some car chase scenes.
We all really enjoyed this. The movie is definitely flawed but that didn't stop us from enjoying it. Can't blame others from disliking but I'm glad I saw it.
I love car chase scenes and this whole movie is pretty much a car chase scene.
They picked the right car for this movie. Pretty cool seeing an american muscle car wrecking havoc in Europe...lol

Easily one of the years best Movies, and THE best car chase film of all time!!

And Selena is always lovely to watch. 10/10 from me :)

And the Shelby Audio.. WOW!!!!

for me it was sort of a sequel to gone in 60 seconds (nic cage) movie..

if only nic cage made another one of them,

shelby aka eleanor check

Cage's "Gone in 60 Seconds" sucks dead armadillo through a bendy straw.

The original is a bad movie (great car chase), and it's better. It makes sense, at least.

I'm sort of in the middle. I kinda want to give the movie a 6/10 score, but there are some things in the movie that are so stupid and they're hard to ignore.

That POV chase is one of the coolest things that I have ever seen in a movie, so I don't regret watching it, and I like Ethan Hawke. However, during that POV chase, there was a fingerprint or something like that on the camera lens, but you can't really restart a chase like that, it's a one-shot thing, so they released the movie with that fingerprint. It's very amateurish.

I didn't hate Selena Gomez, but I hated the things that her character did. She looks like a 15-year-old girl, but she was playing an older girl who is supposed to be super knowledgeable... it's just not believable.

I knew it was a B movie and Selena is pretty, so I just watched it. I didn't care.

I also didn't hate this movie. This stuff could actually happen these days. My opinion of who "the Voice"(J.Voight) is: Selena's dad, after all he didn't get arrested! Maybe he set it all up cause he knew his daughter would know certain things about how the bank protocol was, just saying! Just because your a man with a great paying job, doesn't mean you can't be mentally off!!! I liked it.

That's a pretty cool theory about the The Voice being The Kid's father....lol I doubt this was the case though. The Voice wanted them to get caught by driving to that bank with all of the cops waiting around but they fooled him and stole the computer drive. Plus I'm sure she would have recognized her own father's voice since he wasn't using anything to disguise his voice.
Good theory though.

As a fan of movies like Bullitt, Road Warrior, Cobra, Ronin, Death Proof, The Fast and Furious series, etc, this movie was a guilty pleasure. Definitely had too many edit/cuts, a weak ending and TOO MUCH of Selena Gomez whining. But the 2 minutes POV scene at the end made up for all that.
This scene was EPIC IMO.
Pretty slick how the sun is coming out as this AWESOME scene starts.
I love to blast my tv's volume to hear that Shelby monster roar.
I saw a lot of movies this year and Getaway definitely wasn't the worst movie of the year.

No, I liked it too. I don't understand what everyone else was expecting. The movie offered exactly what it promised: a cheesy action film with car chases and bad guys and a far-fetched premise. And yet it was uber fun to watch if you don't take it all that seriously.

I'm sorry for all the hate Ethan Hawke and Selena are getting, I think they both did a great job. And I don't think either of them was expecting to be nominated to the Academy Awards for this. We need movies like these once in a while, it can't all be psychological dramas, for heaven's sake...

Nope. I thought Ethan and Selena did great and the visuals and chase scenes were awesome. It wasn't anything mind blowing but it was fun. 6/10
