Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade

Anybody here read it? I'm reading it now for the second time (first time was when it first came out) and the thing that strikes me most of all is what struck me when first read it - it seems a completely pointless exercise. It's okay as far as it goes, but we already know what happened to Jason Todd back in '88. Yes it's a different continuity, but it's not as if DKR:TLC reveals a very different end for him.

It's written reasonably well, the art's okay (does a good job of approximating Miller's original stuff in TDKReturns), but unless a DKR:TLC pt 2 materialises to blindside us with some incredible revelation I just don't see the point 

It's terrible. Bruce acts older in this one than he does ten years later in Dark Knight Returns.
