That ending killed me. Loved it. The deer had me cracking up. So random!

That is one of the scenes that almost killed me from laughter.

I say he should write a book about 300 pages!

At the risk of sounding like one of those over-analyzing movie critics, perhaps the deer represented Sunshine (his soul, essence, life force etc). Just a thunk.
