Confused about Walter's actions (SPOILERS)

Just saw this movie, and really enjoyed it, except for several scenes which was confusing (in terms of motive):

1. Why did Walter, despite also having a gun, bolt when he was in his standoff with Jake? Why did he forfeit his deal with Jonah by giving Jake his cell phone? He could've killed Jake with his gun, taken Sara alive, taken the money from his deal with Jonah, too. Instead, he just decided to run (after all that work). He also just randomly decided to give Jake all the money?

2. Why did Trevor also suddenly change his mind? "Too many murders" or something, which doesn't make logical sense because HE was the murderer? (If he had an issue with killing people, why do it obediently for two decades and suddenly have an issue with it?)

3. What happened to Sara that she had a kidney removed? (For example, did this happen super quick while she was under when taken hostage by Walter? Or did Jake decide to take her kidney and sell it?)

Just got done watching and had all the same questions!

I got the impression Saras kidney scar was shown to show Jake was taking over walters business but that makes no sense as he wouldn't have the skills to do the operations.

I don't know, I was kind of enjoying the movie until the end where it all seemed to fall apart.

If Jake took over the business, why would he take Sara's (whom he loves) kidney? Why not someone else?

This movie makes no sense.

Well you can survive with one kidney so they might sell one but yeah a lot of things didn't make sense

My impression was that Walter realized that what he told Jake about it looking bad for him (Jake) wasn't really the case and that he would be better off just going and leaving the money behind.

Trevor realized that Walter was nuts and what they had been doing was wrong. He decided to make it better by giving Jake all the information to get access to the previous organ selling money.

Walter had already removed Sara's kidney. He had a quota to fill and wouldn't have gotten the money without the full order - which included a kidney. So he took Sara's while Jake was dealing with Trevor. He had just completed the order when Jake and Trevor showed up which is why he was finishing up packing up the coolers when they came in.

So Sara lost a kidney but she and Jake now have the $600k from this sale and the access to Trevor and Walter's bank account with all the other money so they took off on his boat and left the big mess behind for the police to figure out.
