Was Max an Irish Traveller do you think? just a generalisation as Tom and Lucy were in the Countryside or just a random stalker?

He apparently knew the roads since it was so easy for him to navigate them at night, which means that he was either a local or someone that state for enough time in the place. All I know that he was the one to set the page and lure them to that place.

I got that he has done this before - using the page as a lure. He said something like 'it took me a while to find a place like this'.

He probably owned the land round the hotel or was very familiar with it
