Were All The Wrecked Cars Those Of Previous Victims?

Regarding all the wrecked cars littering the exterior of Max's residence, were they all of previous victims, which Max had tormented and finally killed, as he did with Lucy and Ian?

looked like a scrapyard , wasn't there a crane ?

reply

That's the impression I got that yes, they were the cars of previous victims.

reply

it was definitely a scrapyard.

reply

Previous victims I reckon.
It reminds me of another film (Wolf Creek), where these people are travelling the desert in Australia and meet a stranger, who then proceeds to drug them and torture them to death in a yard full of the cars of previous victims... it's rather unsettling.

I really don't think those cars belonged to Max's former victims (although that was my first thought too on seeing it). I think it was just an old scrapyard. You do sometimes get those in weird places in the middle of the countryside. I grew up very near where this was actually filmed in Cornwall, and I know of several. It's perfectly possible they were his first victims. He says how long it took him to set up the website, as if maybe this is his first experiment. And yes, there were cranes and other pieces of equipment you'd expect in a scrapyard. And some of the cars were pretty old. Max isn't that old!

I don't think they could have belonged to previous victims, there were hundreds of them! if a serial killer on that scale was operating in Ireland, someone would have noticed! He would have bumped of half the population.

That's what I thought at first, but they couldn't be. Not only is there the small population as previously noted by others, but also, someone else would've killed him by now if he kept offering the opportunity like that.

It's confusing because the shot is so reminiscent of a similar one in From Dusk Till Dawn (movie, not show), the immediate thought is that they must be former victims' cars. But I think it has to be just a very, very out-of-the-way scrapyard.

Hope I'm posting this the right way, I don't do this often. Anyhow, I assumed the cars were all of his prior victims since they all still had their license plates attached. The plates would be off if the place was a junkyard. So he's been doing this a long time.

webfix this movie was good at making us wonder and think about different things and yes as soon as I saw all those cars I wondered just how many of them were vehicles of people this guy toyed with, killed or whatever.

reply

Yeah, that's what I thought. He's been a busy guy.

I'm surprised none of the victims thought to let any friends or relatives know where they were going. Surely with that many victims there would be at least two in the same constabulary.

Someone mentioned Wolf Creek. One of the Wrong Turn films had a scrapyard of previous victims' cars too.
