so good made me speechless after watching it

The suspense built up in the beginning of the movie

maintained throughout the movie. Just amazing and it totally blew me away.

Little bit surprised at it's low rating at the moment (6.9)but definitely

worth watching it many times.

You've got no taste in movies at all. This film was as boring as they come.

reply

I didn't find it boring at all.. Try watching The Master and then tell us if Drug Wars is still boring.

Naw, look at the angry man-child trying to act all grown up despite being the little bitch himself who started the insults. Your posts are as boring and unoriginal as your taste in movies.

Grow some balls, Junior. And find some friends that are not a part of a movie forum site.

Bye bye. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, hypocrite.

And next time learn how to read before sprouting off such a pointless paragraph of text.

Lol at the raging teen searching for a way out, and fooling no one.

The loser says what?

Thought you were done reading my posts. I obviously struck a nerve. Sorry to upset you, champ.

All I get from your posts is a teenager trying to sound tough. You're not fooling anyone, so why bother? Lol.

Pussy.

Late 20s?????

Bhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

If that's true then I feel sorry for you. Nobody that age should be such an insecure pussy.

Nice one, mate. Your responses could have at least been justified if you were a teenager, but now you just look even sadder than before.

Sucks to be you, son.

Naw, now someone's feeling insecure about what other posters will think.

Don't worry, junior, nobody on these boards know you, nor do they want to. Maybe find some friends out in the real world. Good luck. Or maybe you can arrange to meet someone on line if you're having trouble.

This film proves once again that To is one of the best directors of action/crime cinema. His shootouts are damn near poetic. They're a thing of beauty, man.

That hotel scene with Haha was some of the most intense gripping scene I've seen in a long time. And how about that ending huh? What an amazing ending to this thrilliffic film!!!

reply

To knows how to stage tense and stylish showdowns, whether it be by words or bullets.

"I've never seen a simple actioner like this where the good guys are killed in the end."

This movie had good guys in it?

reply

It's beyond the idea of good. It's art.

reply

I'm referring to the characters. This movie doesn't have good guys in it. Everyone is a villain.

"I've never seen a simple actioner like this where the good guys are killed in the end."

Well, this isn't a simple actioner. It's a crime drama. I actually get annoyed at movies in which the good guys defy impossible odds and still make it out unscathed. Note the fact that right before the final shootout, Choi told all his drug dealer friends that the cops had been up all night and are exhausted, which definitely reduces their combat capability. The fact that everyone dies is also foreshadowed when Captain Zhang tells Choi, "If you want to die, I'll be with you. If you want to live, I'll also be with you."

Since the Captain wasn't moving after he cuffed Choi's leg, it's safe to assume that he died. However, I would like to know if his assistant made it. She looked like she had a chance.

Yeah, the movie's ending kinda bummed me out, but that's why I liked it. It gives the realistic notion that nobody is safe in a shootout and defies your expectations.
