Awesome mini-series! But DO NOT watch episode 6! DON'T DO IT!!!

This is an incredible period piece done perfectly as only the Brits can do. Incredible cast, exciting writing, well shot, great plot lines. You'll love it.

But for the love of all things holy, DO NOT WATCH EPISODE 6! It is a complete mystery to me how this was even approved. It is awful. I mean really, really bad. I am having to plot ways in my mind to not let it color the first 5 perfectly done episodes.

Episode 6 is not related to the original plot lines of the show in any way. It starts off as a super boring interview between Louis and Stanley. It feels to the fans watching as if it will be a sort of goodbye to the cast of the show....but its not.
This interview was horribly written (seriously...no one EVER ends every sentence with someone's name). Then it spins of into the wild and mysterious enigmatic tale of the Masons and some tiny super villain named Mr. Luke. It's told by an over actor of the worst kind that acts and speaks just exactly like 7th grade girl whining through her first theater play.

She speaks like a petulant 7th grade girl for about an hour....... and then the show ends having done nothing. Revealed nothing. And furthered the plot not an inch.

It is an obviously poor attempt at spinning the show into a second season. But it didn't work. In fact, it's my opinion that it sealed the deal on the show. I mean, come on....the Masons???? That is probably most tired old conspiracy theory out there.

Normally I don't write negative reviews, but I loved this series so much. It pisses me off this is the taste they left in everyone's mouth.

Watch the first 5 and remember its excellence forever!

LONG LIVE LOUIS!!!!

While I agree the episode seemed to beg for a second season, the premise would have directed the plot from jazz tale to mystery.

Didn't feel I learned much about Louis, Jessie or Carla. Most of their stories were mundane. Nothing sensational or interesting enough for Stanley to publish.

I rather liked the "Interview", except Josephine went on for far too long. What started out as intriguing, just became very redundant and boring. I liked the other interviews though. I thought maybe there was going to be a 2nd season, but it appears not.

Its ridiculous, but I just fast forwarded through most of the woman's speech until it got to the part about "many atrocities, people killed, cities destroyed..." and given that it was supposed to be set in 1932 or 1933, I think they were trying to hint that the Masons 'knew' WWII was coming or was filled with members of the Nazi party, etc. Or the woman was being 'Gaslighted' by her husband too...though who knows? lol

You are the only person to even mention that the whole story was about WWII. I have read a few reviews, even the NEW YORK TIMES & they did not mention it. Shame really.

When I first saw this I shook with fear realizing she was talking about the Holocaust & Nazi's.

Well, I'm watching it to my dismay. This is horrible and has nothing to do with Jessie's murder.
I have no idea what these silly women are talking about.
And yes, it ended as if set up for a Season 2.

Made me wonder if they ran out of budget for the series so they just did this low budget approach for the last episode.

Many salespeople do end every sentence with a person's name.

I was a bit put off by Episode 6 being an interview, but I was okay with it until the Josephine phone calls. I watched that, scratching my head, wondering why the hell anyone involved with this thought her LONG borderline-crazy soliloquy was necessary.

I think episode 6 was fairly good as a stand alone story, separate from the first 5 episodes. Episode 6 could have worked if those stories had been woven into the first 5 episodes and episode 6 finally cleared up something that it took all 6 episodes make you question.

But as it was, not a good move.

So glad to see this post, but wish I had seen it earlier. I watched the episode this evening and literally kept falling asleep, rewinding the DVR, watching segments again, falling asleep, rewinding the DVR. Why did anyone think this interview was necessary as a way to end this series? It added nothing to what had been a terrific little mystery.
