Great soundtrack

In ep 2 of series 2, the scene where Grandad chased the yob who'd nicked his mate's lap-top, the music was by Verdi, an aria from "Sicilian Vespers" sung, if I'm not mistaken, by Maria Callas. I'm not sure if this was a sideways tribute to Verdi on the 200th anniversary of his birth, or some sort of Brechtian alienation thing, but it worked surprisingly well, I thought.
