Questions/Spoilers

Was that supposed to be a wood-chipper in one of the last shots? If not, what was it, and how did Shane die?

Shouldn't Shane, whose worst fear, I take it, was that his fate would be to relive his death repeatedly, be the only one to suffer this? Yet we see the girls arriving at the house again.

Wasn't "the game" supposed to end at 3:33? Granted, they were hardly all within a circle of salt, but still.

I have no idea what was in the last shot. It looked just like a pile of brush and leaves, and I presumed Shane was buried under it because right before the camera panned over there, the guy who was looking at the house said, "and didn't the quarterback run away and was never found?"

They never explicitly said what Shane's biggest fear was, so that is up for interpretation. I assumed that since he couldn't think of his biggest fear at the beginning, that the game became his biggest fear as the night went on. Or, you could say his biggest fear was the devil since he was getting calls from 666-666-6666 but that could have been the Game Leader or whatever they called him.

Also as the girls arrived to the house, it looked like the blonde girl was with them. When the other 2 girls arrived at her house 2 days prior, she was already home.

I think they thought the game was supposed to end at 3:33, but that's when it looked like the game had just begun. I think they misinterpreted the rules or the rules were misleading in order to kill people.

I thought maybe (because they didn't re-light their candles within 10 seconds) the Midnight Man (??) tricked them into thinking it was 3:33 am, so they would let their guards down so he can then torment them. The one guy (can't remember his name) said that the "rules were strict"; and since they didn't abide by them, it let the monster in.

This is a cool take on Urban Legends; I've never heard of The Midnight Game before, so it was a nice, spooky surprise! Just in time for Halloween, too!

Late reply, but I just watched this again, and the blonde is not with the two girls at the end of the movie. She comes running down to their car from the porch, so I believe they are relieving that over and over.

I couldn't make out the stuff in the end either.

My take on it was as Shane said: Sometimes you get hung in a loop and keep reliving your own death.

I'm pretty sure it was Jeff, whose only real contribution to the day was to "go to practice" and not be there, presumably because he was lying dead in a ditch...which you would think the cops who investigated later would notice.
