Perfection!

Please Like Me is as close to perfection as television is likely to get. It's enormously funny in its unique, quirky, understated way, but also manages by some miracle to be gentle, insightful and touching. Brilliantly written by Josh Thomas, and beautifully acted by a wonderful cast, this program deserves to be broadcast on ABC1 rather than hidden away on ABC2.

Agreed! I just found this few days ago and it's a true gem. I really hope for a renewal after these six episodes.

I completely agree, it took me a while in the first episode to get used to Josh's voice and acting but once I got passed that I got to really appreciate how sweet and funny it is

I'm in love with it. Watched it like 5 times, hope there's a second series!

Yep, great show!

I did a (very) short write-up about it on my blog if anyone is interested ...

One can only hope that others will see how wonderful this show is and make sure it returns to television. It is dang near impossible to find shows that have true quality of character, acting, story, and execution of all the above. Fingers are crossed that people won't be so dense as to let this gem of a show go!

I agree completely. Although I live in the states and had to wait until August 1st (2013), I thoroughly fell in love with this show. I actually stumbled upon it by mistake. I happened to be channel surfing to see what was on at the time and it was the day that the Pivot channel premiered here in the states, (at least on Verizon Fios anyway). The very first program on Pivot was this one. Since i had never heard of neither channel nor show, I decided to watch it. I have no problem giving new media a chance to grab my interest. They had showed the entire 6 episode first season marathon. I couldn't get enough. It felt so natural and genuine. Glad to hear they have already been green-lighted for a 10 episode second season. Can't wait.

Having just finished watching the second series of Please Like Me, I'm prepared to declare it the finest piece of television ever produced in Australia. To have sustained the same high standards of writing, acting and production (and the same unique gentle tone) over 16 episodes is quite remarkable and it richly deserves its nomination for an International Emmy. It's also great to hear that a third series has been commissioned. Despite once again being hidden away on ABC2 (which largely explains its poor broadcast ratings in Australia) it is apparently the third highest rating show on iView (the online platform of the ABC). And, by the way, Melbourne looks terrific in the background.

I've just finished the second season tonight and I agree with everything you've said! I just stumbled upon the show by accident and I've fallen completely in love with it!

I'm sure the new season (Season 3) is on ABC and not ABC2? About 9.30pm Thursday nights (I went looking for it on ABC2 but couldn't find it, so yes, definitely on ABC this time).
