Why can't Josh find a job exactly?

Why is he unable to find work?

reply

cause his dad indulging in his childish behaviour certainly helps to contribute to that reason.

You've never met a student who doesn't work because they're a student and their parents pay for everything? It's really not that unusual.

reply

Yeah, Josh is actually very typical these days. He is still at university, in his fifth year. He changed courses. He basically doesn't know what to do with his life (not unusual). He is doing what most people would consider kind of a "fluff" course (Creative Industries or something - which I think the real Josh Thomas also studied) without a lot of "real" prospects. Good jobs are not too plentiful anywhere these days. His Dad seems to have done pretty well for himself financially and is obviously supporting his son. Josh is basically just drifting and unsure of what to do with his life, which is not unusual. I can see why his character is annoying to some people but it is very believable to me.

It's weird. I kind of forget that Josh is a student, because we never see him study, never see him go to uni, never hear him talk about uni, doesn't seem to have any friends from uni.

He runs a coffee/candy cart in the park now.

But, i'm sure he dropped out of college sometime last season?

It was the eppy his dad was telling him he wouldn't support Josh forever. I'll have to rewatch.
