It's not bad... Contains comments on plots, so... SPOILER ALERT!

I've seen all of Season 1 and 2 so far and here are my thoughts:

1. Josh isn't particularly attractive in my opinion. How he gets all the cute or cute-ish looking guys to kiss him is beyond me. As in the words of Arnold from "Torch Song Trilogy", "A ugly person who goes after a pretty person gets nothing but trouble. But a pretty person who goes after a ugly person gets at least cab fare." This is apparent! He's self-centered, nit-picky, out-of-control, his mind is going a mile-a-minute, cannot focus on any one thing, has poor self-worth, has "body issues" as was mentioned, has no get-up-and-go, and at his age, is all too dependent on his father for sustainment. He should have a job of his own (and I'm not talking about the coffee cart)!

2. Geoffrey is so adorable (read "pretty") I could scream. When he broke up with Josh in the first season and came back, I was elated. I thought we were going to see a lot more of him. He seems a little weird in the beginning but you eventually warm up to him the more you see him.

3. Tom is one of the worst characters on TV! He is the definition of a "nerd". He likes to sit at home snacking and playing video games or Googling up weird things on his computer. Giraffes, and moral issues about prostitutes? Come on. He's a pot-smoking, air-headed scatterbrain who has a lot of trouble trying to keep a steady (of-legal age) girlfriend and doesn't take anyone else's feelings into consideration, only thinking about himself (remember the truffle sauce, Josh's last attachment to Geoffrey after their break-up?).

4. Claire. Love her! She's on-the-level, practical minded, knows what's good for herself (eg. her move to Germany) and likes to have fun. Great actress and looks very comfortable in front of the camera.

5. Niamh. Hate her with a passion. She's so damned annoying I just want to climb into the TV and bitch slap her! She doesn't know when to quit, and won't take "no" for an answer. That day when she and Claire had a fight, and she was wearing the towel, she didn't get the hint - get out of the house and don't come back!

6. Mum. Love her! She's a happy go lucky kind of person, and I really like that if it makes the character development seem realistic. Sure, she has a few problems (i.e. minor drug and alcohol addiction and currently in divorce proceedings), but she's overcoming them. I mean, who doesn't have problems? It's making her a much stronger woman than she was before her divorce! Love the new doo!!!

7. Aunt Peg. Love her too! I can probably relate more to her because my Mum's name was Peg. She has a lot of love in her to give, but has a little trouble showing it. If she would let others get close to her, she'd be much happier. Too bad we lost her way before her time.

8. Dad. Dad is basically a wimp. It's hard for him to make his own decisions and gets into trouble for it. So he picked up a Thai girl and is trying to make a go at it. Mid-life crisis hit hard for this guy when he bought that expensive new car. He's owning up to his mistakes and is trying hard to get through his divorce and a new wife and having another child to look after. Kudos to Dad!

9. Mae. Ever seen "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" where they go to this small outback town and the tow-truck driver's Thai girlfriend shoots ping pong balls out of her, well, you know... she reminds me MUCH of that girl!

10. Arnold. So, so cute, but so insecure. And I think Josh makes too much fun of him being in a mental institution. He tries to overcome his anxiety disorder in favour of having a relationship with Josh, but the first date ends tragically when they accidentally (read repeatedly) run over a possum and Patrick is high on some drug and alcohol combination. I gave a lot of credit to Arnold for getting out more and trying to overcome his anxiety. Could be right for Josh, but I liked Geoffrey better.

11. Hannah... OMG, so funny! I'm sure depression is not something to laugh about but I love Hannah! In the beginning she was so quiet and now that she and Mum have become good friends, she's opening way up. Good for her!

12. Ginger. A great lady with a fantastic sense of humour! Too bad again that they killed off another character. She would have made a great addition to other episodes!

13. Jenny. Get rid of this "girl"! But when the "wings" part came up I nearly pissed myself laughing so hard!

14. Patrick. Another "pretty one". I thought Patrick was straight in the beginning because he liked hanging out with Tom who is also straight. When he and Josh kissed for the first time in the car, my first thought is why the heck did he do that if he's straight? Turns out he's not straight, but totally not for Josh. He has too many issues and I don't think he knows exactly what he wants. Then all of a sudden he was gone without explanation. Josh was accused of kicking him out but I don't remember Josh ever asking him to leave.

Newer episodes and Season 3 better tie up some of these loose ends!

I'm binging the series (now on Netflix) and so far I agree on your comments, especially #9 about Priscilla. Maybe it's the rare (for me) combination of the aussie accents and her version of Thai that reminds me of that movie.
